From Friday 31st March to Monday 3rd April, the students in Westlake Symphony Orchestra and Westlake Concert Band gathered at Willow Park Christian Camp for a combined music camp. The schedule included around 9 hours of rehearsal on the weekend days but there was also time for games, homework, eating delicious food and much needed sleep. The students were also privileged to workshop with professional players from the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, who visited camp on Saturday. It was a fantastic four days of music-making and team bonding, and we look forward to sharing the music with our school community in Term 2 performances.
