Westlake Students Rise to the Maths Challenge!

Distinction Awardees

Thirty problems, plenty of brainpower and some impressive results!

This year, 48 Westlake Girls students put their mathematical thinking to the test in the 2026 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), tackling questions designed to challenge their logic, reasoning and problem-solving skills.

With students from Years 9 through to 13 taking part, it was great to see such strong participation across the school.

A special congratulations to Christine Kexin Lu (Year 12), who earned a High Distinction, and to our seven students who achieved Distinctions:

  • Year 9: Freda Lee and Cynthia Santoso
  • Year 10: Sophie Wu
  • Year 11: Nora Kang
  • Year 12: Rosa Xiaoye Zhao
  • Year 13: Miya Wang and Aliya Yifan Zhang

Well done to everyone who took part. Whether you came away with an award or simply enjoyed putting your problem-solving skills to the test, it’s wonderful to see our students embracing a mathematical challenge!
