Now in its second year and rebranded as the ‘Rising Swans Showcase’ this fundraiser concert for the charity ‘Star Jam’ held on Wednesday 10th May, did not disappoint! Our Arts Prefects: Mackenzie Wills, Doyoun Kim, Princess Peregrino, and Kaley Moir did a fantastic job of organising the entire evening of entertainment – 21 acts in total. There were plenty of quality staff contributions with songs from the Music Department and Mr Lyons, a dance from the Dance & PE Department, lip-sync from Ms Visser and flamenco flair from Ms Brown. One of the highlights was two dance performances from the Star Jam Charity which were warmly received by the audience.

The judging panel (Miss Milburn, Mr Howan, Ms Gomez, and a teacher from Star Jam), had a tough decision at the end of the night – but the place winners were as follows:

First Place: Bella Allan-Moetaua, Princess Peregrino and Gabby Galao (vocal trio)

Second place: Dhara Edirisingha (Bollywood solo)

Third place: Arissa Raufie and Mizuki (K-pop dance)

Crowd Favourite: the Year 13 gang: (lip-sync dance)

Congratulations to all who prepared their talents for the stage and well done to the Arts Prefects, who raised $1,225.00 donation that will help Star Jam continue to operate and empower young people through music and dance.
