Winning a national title is one thing. Doing it without losing a game or conceding a single goal? That’s quite something!
Westlake Girls student Anika Bayer was part of the Auckland Under 16 hockey team that claimed the national title at the recent tournament in Christchurch.
The Auckland side went unbeaten throughout the competition, keeping a clean sheet in every match before securing the championship with a Grand Final victory over Christchurch.
It’s a fantastic achievement for Anika and her Auckland teammates, and a wonderful reward for the hard work that goes into competing at this level.
