To celebrate and elevate the role of young women in music, Westlake Girls High School is proud to introduce the inaugural All-Girls Jazz Festival – a dedicated two-day event designed to foster confidence, collaboration, and community within the jazz genre. We have recognised how valuable it is to provide specific opportunities for young women to engage in jazz, a space that can often feel quite male-dominated. This year we have invited three other all-girls schools to join us for a cross-school Jazz Band festival – Baradene College, Epsom Girls Grammar, and St Cuthbert’s College.
After two days of workshops with guest clinicians, Lana Law, Paul Norman, and Eddie Hare, the four school bands will be presenting a public concert to showcase all their work. Come join us in the WGHS Events Centre on 28 June, 4pm, for a fantastic afternoon of jazz! All ages welcome. Entry by koha.
