What if AI could be used to solve the world’s biggest problems — from climate change to access to education? That vision of AI for Good became our ignition point for AI Awareness Week at Westlake Girls. We used a future scenario approach to spark imagination and purpose, encouraging students to envision how AI could drive equity, health, sustainability, and meaningful change in the world. We even brought to life future job roles that don’t yet exist, helping students see themselves as future innovators, problem-solvers, and ethical leaders in an AI-powered world.
Our staff engaged in tailored learning sessions led by our amazing AI Champions, building real capability across all levels of AI literacy. In assemblies with students we explored the purpose of learning, highlighted the importance of developing critical thinking over shortcutting the learning, demystified generative tools, and reinforced responsible use. And this week, our AI Literacy Modules also go live for students, helping them build the knowledge, mindset, and skills to navigate and lead in an AI-infused future. With women and girls underrepresented in AI, we’re changing the narrative. Because AI literacy is the first step to creating real, positive change.
