In mid-August, WGHS took part in the Junior Mathex competition with two Year 10 teams and one Year 9 team. All the students enjoyed the experience and showed remarkable resilience and commitment to solving mathematical problems.
Students worked hard over the last two weeks, practising past papers in preparation for the competition.
- Year 9 scored an impressive 90/100.
- Year 10 teams both scored 30, as they persisted with one question they were determined to solve.
Next year, students hope to start preparing earlier for the competition and to practice questions more focused on probability.
