From the Principal

Head and Deputy Head Prefect

Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,

On Wednesday we were delighted to hold our 2021 Academic Prize-Giving, delayed from the end of last year. We were also able to acknowledge our 2021 Scholarship recipients, announced earlier this month.

Around 40 current Year 13 and former Year 13 students gathered in the Events Centre to receive their trophies and certificates. It was a special reunion for those about to start university, some watching via the live stream. and a chance to celebrate the success of these very able students.

A huge congratulations to all of our recipients, but especially to our Dux Maggie Zhou and Proxime Accessit to the Dux Bahar Khalil Nejad. You can find a full list of our recipients in this edition of Te Roto.

It was also great to hold our Athletics Day in brilliant sunshine on Wednesday, with our Junior and Senior athletes enjoying some good competition, and five school records being broken. Check out the Sports section for more details.

While we weren’t able to include our whole school as we usually do, we are looking forward to our Year 9s enjoying some time together at our Tabloid Sports Day next Friday.

Finally, you will have received an email from me earlier today outlining how our school will operate under Phase 3 of the Omicron Response. These are unsettling times for all of us, but I assure you we are adhering to strict mask-wearing, social distancing in class and other safety precautions to limit any transmission within school.

I hope you and your family keep well and enjoy the last of the summer weather this weekend.

Jane Stanley

Principal
