World Vision Youth Conference

On Tuesday 2nd May, the 40 Hour Challenge committee represented Westlake Girls at the World Vision Youth Conference 2023. This annual leadership event brings together senior students from all across the Upper North Island, uniting them in their fight for worldwide social justice. Our students engaged with the focus of this year’s campaign: the clean water crisis – which has stripped thousands of tamariki from the ability to live out their full potential.

Throughout the day they were inspired by two incredible female speakers, encouraged to share their own ideas and experiences, and introduced to tools to guide them on the path to enact positive change. Our committee came back all the more ready to take on the 40 Hour Challenge at school this year. They have ambitions to fundraise as much money as possible for struggling communities across the globe, providing them with the resources to find hope for a brighter future.
