Congratulations to Year 11 student Emily Sullivan, who has been accepted as a member of the National Youth Band for 2023. This is the Brass Band Association’s premier youth ensemble with an age of limit of under 23 years. It consists of players who are either professional musicians, with the NZ Army Band or studying music at University. Although Emily was invited to attend last year’s NYBB as a development player, her successful audition and selection as a full member has means that she will be one of the youngest in the band. The band will assemble and tour the upper South Island in January 2023.
