Company visits and Internships

Year 13 student Zara Shreyoshi spent 2 days at the Global Engineering company Norman Disney & Young in Auckland CBD during the holidays. She was very well received by their Acoustic Team. The team had some testing to complete and took Zara out on-site visits and she has spent time learning with the team.  Zara got on very well with the team and enjoyed her time at ND&Y. They are looking forward to receiving more girls interested in Engineering. These visits are important to give the student an idea of the day-to-day work in an Engineering firm.

This week, Year 12 student Jappan Kaur and Barbara Scholten visited the Royal New Zealand Navy Base in Devonport. Jappan had a one-on-one tour and was able to speak to several new female recruits. The tour was impressive. This visit confirmed her decision to apply for the Defence Force.  They advised her to start the recruitment process this year. We hope to be able to take more girls to the Royal Navy Base in the near future.
