Best female haka at ASB Polyfest

On Tuesday 4th April our Kapa Haka Group of 18 students took to the stage at the ASB Polyfest Māori & Pacific Islands Cultural Festival.  The team placed 3rd overall in the 2nd Division (with a likely promotion to the 1st Division next year). They won the Haka taparahi for best female haka and placed second for Mōteatea and mita (Pronunciation). Caitlin Jenkins was named third best female leader.

The team were led by tutors: Maddison Gerbes (Alumni) and Tirakahurangi Takuira-Leaf, and accompanied by guitarists were Natana Herewini and Murray Hawke.
