Art Teacher Rik Wilson – finalist in Kiingi Tuheitia Portrait Award

Our talented art teacher Rik Wilson has made it to the finals of the Kiingi Tuheitia Portrait Award with his stunning drawing of his father tinkering away with an engine whilst watching TV.

The Kiingi Tuheitia Portraiture Award provides emerging Māori artists with the opportunity to showcase their talents on the national stage, while also playing an important role in recording and celebrating tūpuna and their stories.

The winner and runner-up will be announced on the opening day of the exhibition, May 24.
