On 29 October, the Westlake Marching Team made a great start to the year in their first field day and competition. Following their success in the 2020-2021 season, and placing 4th nationally with their spectacular display, the members of the team were very excited to finally be able to compete again, following the cancellation of the previous season due to COVID restrictions.
“It was a great experience,” one of the members of the team commented, “Nerves aside, I think we did the best we could, and our hard work paid off.”
The Westlake Marching team are continuing to train two evenings a week for the upcoming Regional Championships in Wellington in December.
