From the Principal

The last couple of weeks have been a whirl of activity, with this years very tight timeframe, and we have been enjoying celebrating the success of our students. The Sports Awards and the Music dinner have both been lovely occasions, made extra special after not being able to get together for some time. The number of students recognised, and the level to which they have achieved has been outstanding and we are very proud of them.

We are adjusting to being able to hold events on site now that we have our Events Centre. On Wednesday 2 November we have two awards ceremonies for our senior school. The first is our Special Awards Ceremony for our senior school, at 10am in the Westlake Girls High School event centre. This is to celebrate our non-Academic achievements, due to capacity, all Year 9 and 10 students and senior award winners are welcome to attend. We will also be streaming this at the following link for those of you who would like to join us virtually.

Year 9 and 10 students will be released at the conclusion of the event (approximately 12pm) for study leave. There will be no timetable classes for students on this day. If you require supervision for your daughter, please contact their Dean and they will arrange this.

In the evening, beginning at 7pm, we have our Senior Academic Prize-Giving, also at our event centre where parents and caregivers are welcome to attend. Other changes this year include a special assembly for our year 12 students, on Monday 31st October to announce the Prefects for 2023. A full list of events is listed under “Things to Note”.

We wish our Kapa Haka students all the best for the Ahurea festival which is being hosted by Westlake Boys this weekend. Our combined group will be performing at 8.00am on Saturday morning.
